Angry Robot Open Submissions - July 2020

I don't understand this post.

Anyway, as to the OP, this is a pity, because although I have plenty of 50-90K stories, none can qualify as or are formatted as novels, so I guess I'm out of the running. Thanks for the information anyway. Hope someone gets to realise their dream and be published through it. Best of luck to all.

Any experience of them? Are they legit publishers, not 'vanity press' or similar ?
I might throw "Changebringer" at them It's 82K SF with adult elements. It is pretty much there. I need to adjust the 'texture' of one chapter which is maybe two days rewrite and I'll be well pleased with it. :)

Yes, Very legit. Take a look at this page. Just look at the awards, they as a press, and their authors have won.

Trollheart; it is a post of a heads up that a very good mid range UK publisher is holding its annual open submission window. Normally they only take agent submitted work.

I've submitted. Crossing fingers. And toes.

I understand that. It's the line about something being "subbed as adult" I didn't get.

I was going to suggest this to you. I'd say you have a pretty good chance.

Jo's talking to people who've beta'd one of her wips.
HI, yeah, sorry @Trollheart , I shouldn’t have used jargon. Several people have read my I-will-finish-soon new book and, as ever, I don’t write things that are easy to categorise, so I was wondering if, with the objectivity of a more distant eye than mine, if it could meet the requirements for an adult novel. It seems not. Despite, I’m sure, selling more to adults than teens when I do bring it out myself. :)

Two weeks to write and polish a query and synopsis. Oh man! Im 6 months into the last one and I still don’t think it’s right:sick: I do have something just about ready to take a punt on though, so will get to work.

Do you submit normal or double spaced for this one? I couldn't find the MS "demand list".

I may give this a shot. Does anyone know what their turnaround time is? Publishers can often run to six months or more before responding and the website doesn't mention a time frame.
