Underrated Doctors?

If you ask me Peter Capaldi is one of the best Doctor's we've had and it's honestly a shame that not many people talk about his run as The Doctor, he has some bad episodes but so does every Doctor, a lot of people seem to forget that some of his episodes are some of the best out of the revival.

Who would be your choice for the most underrated Doctor?

Sylvester McCoy. Not everyone's piece of pie. And yes, some of the stories were awful, there were no production values and it looked like the BBC were actively trying to ruin the show. But on the other hand you did have Ace taking out a Dalek with a Baseball bat...

I've just googled him to see if he's still alive (yes!) and his real names a proper mouthful......
Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith

So Sylvester McCoy was the better choice?!?! And how he got that name? Great! :giggle:

I’m currently binge watching the new Doctor Who and thoroughly enjoying them. It’s making me want to watch the older ones. Anyone know where I can stream them?

if you are in the UK BritBox has all the original episodes from Number 1, only reason I subscribe.

Thanks Vladd. I've been holding off on Britbox.

I'll finish the newer ones and then I plan to Binge the Twilight Zone on Netflix.

Ken Campbell! In your universe I believe he was pipped to the role by Sylveste(r) McCoy (who, btw, I occasionally see around North London, dressed EXACTLY THE SAME as he was as the Doctor (in your universe)

Colin Baker and, I wish he had gotten to play the Doctor longer than he did.:(

I agree that Colin wuz robbed. In contrast to his costume, Colin Baker's performance was pretty nuanced, an interesting mixture of bombast and vulnerability. He got scapegoated and sacked for other people's mistakes and because of internal disputes at the BBC. He made a big impression on me as a child, on the basis of seeing just one of his stories. Yes, a couple of stories from his run were absolute stinkers. This is.... not unique in the history of Doctor Who. Even Tom Baker had a few which are best glossed over.
