Chip making technology. Beyond crinkle cut.

I remember when I did my electronics training in the seventies, one of the first things we learned was to etch a circuit board using a copper plated piece of plastic, a heavy ink and acid. Things have progressed at light speed since then.
 
Did they say tin? For some reason I though chips were made with silver or some other semi-precious metal.
Bu there again I also thought Chip Makers made their own machines to make chips. So what do I know...

The tin is used to produce plasma for the near x-ray laser beam, not for the physical chip itself.
