The original came out a couple of years ago, and I reviewed it here: Review: Dragon Quest XI (PS4)
Short version is that it's a really good game brimming with old-fashioned charm.
And now the Definitive Edition is coming to the PS4, when it had previously been only for the Nintendo IForgotWhichDevice.
So, what's it bring?
Well, the base game by itself is pretty fantastic. This version has an orchestral soundtrack, the option to slip into 2D 16bit mode (which looks pretty good), a photo mode (seems to be more holiday snaps than The Last of Us' free camera), extra outfits, and, perhaps most importantly, extra story/character moments. And the retail price is a little lower than a new release.
So if you've been thinking of buying DQXI you might want to wait until December and get yourself a nice little Christmas present.
