(Found) 90's scifi royal family murdered, surviving price taken to grow up on random planet by guard.

I think this was a 3 book series paperbacks, came out in 90's. . One character was a pilot on a Scimitar class ship. There was an arms dealer that had a mysterious sidekick. The bad guy was a Vaderesque figure that wielded a sword kinda like a light saber, but on the royal family could wield because of some sort of nano tech.
