I want to do a story where someone is stuck in a alien world. he falls in love with a alien female that looks human
,I was thinking the ratio to woman and men is higher and the plane tis facing extinction am not sure how to approach I was thinking he would hide when his fellow earth people come looking I like to hear some advice on how to make this interesting.

Hi! First you have to probe the page. If you can think of a name, write it down. If a scene occurs to you, write it down. In these moments, any type of image, concept or idea that comes to your mind is valuable and is a good material to start gathering. But you have to write them while they are still fresh in your mind and they excite you.
In a second phase, ask yourself about a plot for the story; understanding that it is only a guide to give your own brain an orientation of what it should work on, what kind of things he must to looking for. In this part it is good to set some kind of goal in writing. For example, "how to make that interesting story". Because there are many ways to approach a topic, but you must understand that in this phase of the process you are in the dark and just beginning to order the elements. Don't rush, because there is no formula; you should let the process decant on its own. You can also read stories that deal with the same thing, there are several will help you. But, above all, another objective that you must consider is that if you have an alien woman, you should not make the mistake of turning her into a cardboard character like so many do. To suppose, for example, that they think like us or express themselves like us is a beginner's mistake; among ourselves we are capable of realizing, just by his way of speak, whether a person is not from the country or even being from the country if he comes from the north or south or simply does not belong to the city; not to mention how easy it would be to spot an alien. An excellent read to get an idea of how an alien entity really thinks is The Nova Express by William S. Burroughs. There you will see that they do not even order or understand the language the way we understand it. They are worse than Tarzan at expressing themselves, in fact.
Hope this help. :giggle:

I mean, there's a thousand different ways you could take that and make it interesting. But there's also alot of work that needs to be done to flesh out this idea, and @DLCroix provides some good advice on what that process looks like. I'll only add that, broadly speaking, people find interesting first characters, then plot, then setting. What you have here is a little bit of the plot and the setting.

Because there are so many ways you could take this, instead of giving some suggestions, I'll give some questions to help flesh out the details.
  • What sort of alien world is your protagonist stranded upon?
  • How did your protagonist wind up on the planet, and how did he wind up stranded?
  • How humanlike are the aliens, and how did they wind up so humanoid.
  • How did he meet the love interest, and how did they come to fall in love?
  • Are they capable of reproducing? And if so, why?
  • Why are they facing extinction with a higher population of women than men? Are they a strict monogamy culture? Is there something else wrong with the men?
  • Why would the protagonist hide when other humans arrive, rather than be excited for rescue/seeing other humans?
  • What are the characters like? What are their strengths, weaknesses, personalities...
There are more, but I think this is a good start.

Both @DLCroix and @Joshua Jones are very kind to give ideas. I can give you no ideas except - write! Write anything! Stream of consciousness, random words, half sentences. The story is trying to get out. It's in your mind, but the poor mortal mechanism can not give it form so easily. So what often comes out is a Frankenstein's monster. But, after that first page of random words comes out, you yourself will be able to sculpt it and make it better, and then, you can send it out to some readers and they can give more specific comments.

As an addendum to the previous, if this is a longer story, more than a few pages, I use the snowflake method. That helps me a lot in creating a coherent structure. However, when the rubber hits the road, I find that the best thing is to just write, write, write and fix it later.

First off - Flash Short or novel. I suspect you're thinking novel. However, as a what seems to be a first novel this is likely to turn into a "project".

Try writing it in all forms (flash first and so on). See if it has legs and if you are able to move it forward to the next level or whether it peters out at the short stage.

All good stuff. There are writing tools - I have used Ywriter

which allows you to include facts and figures and character descriptions and structures your story into scenes chapters and the like as part of a common document.

Old JJ (@Joshua Jones) has asked some pointed questions all of which hit home with any writer.

You might want to include :-

Why is he attracted to the alien females - is he on the rebound?

What do the local males think of the situation - not happy at the competition or grateful for the rest. :)

What do the other females think about this none sharing relationship?

Do the women fight for access to a male?

Is it a harem society?

What is the situation on Earth regarding "Alien intermingling". Would he be put to death for galactic gene sharing.

Is he being hunted, rescued or escaping from something equally nasty?

If they do find him, they find the planet. What would be the consequences of having a ship full of women hungry space pilagers and rapists landing on the planet?

Is he a hero or a villain?

Have fun

Hope I helped
