Book about man shanghied to a colony planet with alien worms. The woman there was not liked by the worms and she caused a dam to collapse that killed. Main character was involved with a woman in earth and another guy who wanted her, drugged and put MC on ship for colony planet.

Read in the 2000s. I want to say that shanghied was on the cover but not sure. It's not shanghied to the moon. Alot of the story takes place on the colony. The alien worms are grouped by instars.
 
Great series, when I read this previously this series never entered my head but, yeah could be, Kris Bjorrnson and Zainal I mean my bearded dragon is called Lenny after Lenny Doyle from the books

She is drugged and dropped into a planet asleep with thousands in a field the worms eat some of them before they awake and escape Zainal is an alien whos species drop humans but he has a falling out and they drop him aswell
 
I remember the MC dating this girl, another guy he knows drugs him and puts him on a colony ship bound for a new colony. The planet is still largely unexplored. At first he tried to go back to earth but realize that won't work because of the time traveled. He meets another woman there and they get along so so. The alien worms there have their own rudimentary language culture and society. The female friend of the MC was involved in some dam building project that caused the deaths of many juvenile worms.
