Well things went from weird to weirder with this one! At times I felt like I was reading a juvenile novel, I mean using a sentient cat as a tracker, really?
The book still suffers from the same problem as the previous book (Fear Nothing) in as much as Koontz likes to over elaborate on a sentence where a few good words will do. But it had something.
There was a good story there, and he definitely left the ending open for a third book, but seeing as this was written in 1998 it seems unlikely.
I know one thing. If I ever get a black labrador I'm calling him Orson!
