"Bond, James Bond" Sean Connery

What a guy, what a Bond, what an actor. Sad, but he had a great career and a pretty good run. RIP Sean.

No, Mister Bond, I expect you to die...

...but be sadly missed.

RIP Sir Sean Connery. He poked me in the chest once backstage at Spamalot. Hard. It hurt. He meant for it to hurt. I'd slipped in an impression of him in the show during the Knights Who Say Ni. Turns out he hated impressions of him. That rib is still out of place.
#RIPSeanConnery

But on a serious note, a very sad day. I guess we must all accept that these acting heavy weights (Connery, Caine, Hackman, Hopkins, ..... Shatner, etc.) will not around forever. Not my personal favourite Bond (that would be Timothy Dalton), but an immense actor that illuminated every movie he was in.

His greatest role, for me, was The Untouchables, though there are plenty of his films I haven't seen. I also have a very soft spot for Outland, which is one of cult favourites of the classic space horror era of the late 70's / early 80's.

RIP, favourite son of Scotland.

I think his most powerful performance was probably in The Offence alongside Ian Bannen.

Of all his movies and fine performances this was to my mind one of his most complete performances. He also starred with Ian Bannen(a brilliant actor) in The Hill. I am feeling my age this week. Sean Connery, Nobby Stiles and yesterday the great journalist Robert Fisk, who I had the pleasure of meeting a number of years back.

I tried to ask my father in law about the hill as he was in the military police in Libya in the 50s he was very evasive and then claimed not to have seen the film.

Sorry to hear he had gone, for me the best of all Bonds plus a fantastic submarine captain among lots and lots of other roles, R.I.P. Sean!
