I am here to do the thing!
I've been waiting to post this for a while but have held off as a) I wasn't sure it was going to happen, and b) I'm still kind of pinching myself that it is!

My science fiction thriller Man O'War was picked up by Leslie Ash's production company Booksoffice earlier this year, and has been adapted into a series of "cast-read live performances" to be broadcast live on Zoom. Episode 1 will be broadcast on Monday November 23rd. Man O'War wouldn't have been published without the help of the good folks at SFF Chrons who critted, beta'd and sent encouragement throughout, so this is another great vindication of the power of this place.

The series will star Jessica Clark, who played the vampire queen Lilith in HBO's True Blood; Alessandro Babalola, who plays the hitman Haze in Netflix's Top Boy; and Mikhael DeVille from the BBC series Doctors.

HOW TO WATCH
You'll have to buy membership from Booksoffice - at the moment they're running a discounted rate of £2 to watch the entire series of Man O'War (it goes up to £3 after 11th November), but other membership plans are available if you wanted to watch other productions. The Man O'War stream will be run from Booksoffice's platform from November 23rd, and consists of one season of eighteen episodes. By buying a membership you'll have the option of watching the cast live, or streaming it on catch-up. We're also looking at transferring the reading to audiobook format.

This is a pretty big deal for a small-time indie author so I'm really proud to have made this happen - it's got a great cast, has some good people working on it behind the scenes, and also represents an innovative new type of performance that has found its niche in these strange locked-down times. It thus also does the good job of enabling actors and production companies to make a product and a living, so please do support it by buying a membership and tuning in.

THANK YOU!

Dan, quick question: I tried to do the ppv option and it asked me to register my email for interest. But there was no place to pay or any further instructions. I imagine in January when it's available I'll get an email? Any idea if this is how it works? (Don't worry if you're not sure; I'll wait a little longer and try and contact them.)

I think the PPV option (the £2 one) expired on November 11th... the £4 option (and the more expensive ones) still works, and as far as I'm aware you can cancel it at any time - Membership Checkout - BookStreamz

It is all a bit new, I agree, but it should work - I managed to pick up a membership ok. I'll ping the team an email and just check everything is working ok - I'll come back when I get a response :)

EDIT: I've just heard that they're going to postpone Man O'War until at least the end of the month because of... Covid! I'm just learning this now - bit frustrating, but never mind. In any case, the PPV memberships won't be available until January 1st (I think), so at the moment it's a monthly membership that's the cheapest option.
