There's hints buzzing around Facebook tonight (I think originally coming from a Twitter thread) that Ben Bova has succumbed to Coronavirus and passed on.

Does anyone have any updates on this?

There's comments about this issue on author Jack McDevitt's Facebook feed.

It seems to imply that a hasty comment was later withdrawn and that Mr Bova is still (for now) with us, but very ill.

We could simply be waiting for an official announcement

Iconic science fiction author Ben Bova has passed away from Covid-19 elated complications. The first Bova I read was The Dueling Machine and it has always stuck with me. He will be missed. RIP.

I just noticed that Ben Bova passed away last November. He was 88. I read the Puffin edition of the Duelling Machine years ago as a young boy. A good book that conveyed just enough politics to get me thinking about what it's like to have grown up in a 'totalitarian state'. RIP, Ben.

I read and enjoyed several of his Grand Tour books and really enjoyed them.
