I listened to this as an audio book from the local library - in English
Full length novel
I had a long commute between 2006 and 2012 - I listened to this probably around 2008 or so
It was about a man who was a publicist or PR guy that got a job promoting a company (like virgin Atlantic or spacex) that was planning to put civilians in low earth orbit for a short joy ride
on short notice he was invited to go on a test flight
during the flight a micro meteor penetrated the cockpit and killed the pilot
the PR guy was left up there all alone
he was not able to receive communications from mission control
he found a keyboard and started writing his life story on it
he did not know that it was being transmitted and posted in real time
millions of people followed his plight online
eventually mission control figured out how to communicate with him and helped him trigger an automatic reentry sequence
he landed at a remote site and eventually re-connected with his girlfriend and lived happily ever after
Not a well know author I don't think
May have been a recommendation from the library as best new sci-fi for that year
Lately it reminds me of all the bloggers out there who may or may not have anyone reading their content
