Just watched "Acquisitions". The Ferengi moderated over the couple centuries till TNG. I would not buy anything from a 24th Century Ferengi (expecting to be flim-flammed) but at least they did not engage in outright Piracy!

I always felt that the Ferengi were underplayed, especially in Star Trek: TNG and DS9.

Played for comic relief when they clearly had a high level of technology. They should've been a major race.

I always figured they kept up piracy but were more or less out of business much like pirates today
