DISCUSSION THREAD -- April 2021 300 Word Writing Challenge (#41)

@Parson reminds me of when I worked at a pizza joint tossing dough, and when we accidentally made a hole we'd send the new hires to the walk-in for the dough patch kit.

@Guttersnipe .... The Painter of Souls .... sometimes you get what you want, but don't want what you get.

@Edoc'sil .... Verdant Grass .... some things make you go huh? what? how? that's amazing!

@Sinergio .... Kolebaniya .... sometimes what is unknown is best left unknown or your existence might "fluctuate."

Okay, I'll grant you that constant fluctuation could be considered a stability in a continually unstable environment. o_O

@therapist .... Potion Boy ..... Tells the tale of someone who always had more than they showed. And when you have than people expect it's sometimes easy to make friends.

@G.T. .... Oil on Sand .... Reminds us that in the battle for life, the best that humans can hope for is a temporary stalemate.

Guttersnipe: The calm narrative tone of this subtle tale adds greatly to the intrigue of its mysterious conclusion.

Edoc'sil: Beginning as a realistic story of hard science fiction, this startling work of imagination evolves into something quite different.

Singergio: The author creates an increasing sense of dread at the prospect of chaos in this suspenseful story.

therapist: Hidden within what seems to be a gentle, pleasant fantasy are darker questions about free will and abuse of power.

Starbeast: The madcap appeal of this rollicking farce in enhanced by multitudinous use of popular culture and a post-modern surprise.

G.T.: The contrast between the traditional past and the incomprehensible future enhances the impact of this grim tale of war.

M. Robert Gibson: The playfulness of this lighthearted story is appropriately conveyed through the eyes of a child.

@Elckerlyc .... Culture Shock .... It is well known that beauty, in art or anything else, is in the eye of the beholder. But if too many people feel that others are wrong there will be trouble.

@farntfar .... What colour do you call that? Puke Green? .... Among the living of any race mysteries abound.

@mosaix .... Professional Interest .... Physician, heal thyself.

Well, I'm in.

For once I had a germ of an idea soon after the image went up, but needless to say I didn't actually start writing the blessed thing until the last minute -- well, 5pm this afternoon to be exact -- and I've spent most of the time since then trying to get the bloody ending, if you'll forgive the pun.
