DISCUSSION THREAD -- September 2021 -- 75-Word Writing Challenge

@Bren G .... A Fairy’s Tale .... Sometimes following the rules is sad and this story made me want to cry.

@Guttersnipe .... Doubting Thomas, or, Warning: Blasphemy Not Allowed .... Rules have a way of biting you in the backside when you least expect it.

@chrispenycate .... Enregulated .... Sometimes the rules can be pure poetry.

@atsouthorn .... Render reassignment .... By rule, the sins of one's children leave you experiencing hell.

@paranoid marvin .... The Family From Hell .... Where there are rules the separation between reality and fantasy dissolves.

@Mon0Zer0 .... Top three things every adventurer should know .... rules are rules and there will be no truck with exceptions.

@DanielOwen .... Sound It Out .... A good idea spoken very carefully might just set you free.

@Margaret Note Spelling .... The New Standard .... Sputter, gasp, shudder, --- the changes as one approaches the speed of light break established law and life standards.

@Thiery .... Tales of Mahanoora .... Sometimes those who don't see, won't see, and sometimes they set the rules.

Annoyed, just came to post my entry that I've been tweaking back and forth - unusual for me - when I spot the genre is not speculative fiction but Sci-Fi or Fantasy. Not sure why I'd convinced myself it to be the former, maybe the plot idea overtook me.

Double annoyed, there's no way I can twist it to match either one of those.

Back to the drawing board.

Sorry, @Luiglin.

@nixie .... Times Change, Rules Can Be Broken .... Times do change and rules can be broken, and if the rules are real stupid, a sage might just turn the tables on the powers that be.

I’m sure you can put it on the shelf to fit another theme another day…

Is it only me, or is anyone else feeling a definite lack of stories which show laws to be a good thing?
