I'm looking at open sourcing my novel.
I'd like to make the book free for downloading and reading, and free for distribution (either freely or for profit).
But I don't want to license anyone to modify the work in any way, or to give away rights for derived works like plays, TV shows, films, audio books, etc.
The Creative Common license for Attribution and No Derivatives comes close to what I want. But it does not clearly exclude rights for derived works.
And also, it includes some confusing verbiage about modifying the original work, when it should just say modification is not permitted.
Any suggestions? Has anybody here use the Creative Commons licenses? Or is there some other form of open source license I should consider?
Thank you for your feedback!
