Hello Everyone,
After much work, sweat, tears and effort, I managed to finish my novella (published under my pseudonym 'James Allen'). This is not the 120,000-word sci-fi I am still working on but the side project I finished, based on my dads battle with cancer and experiences in the NHS (British health care system).
The book follows the main character, Arthur as he battles a shock cancer diagnosis as well as his interests both in this and the Arthurian world. I really enjoyed writing this book. It was a passion project considering my father's journey was similar to Arthurs.
This forum helped me to realise that I needed to have different works in progress to make progress. This approach was critical as the Sci-fi book was a big challenge, especially for a first novel. This one was more dainty and allowed me to write in a completely different style. I hired a professional editor, working with her was a different experience from what I expected. This changed my approach to writing, hence I am writing another novel already... I am addicted.
You can get Beneath A Gibbous Moon below for free if you have kindle unlimited or wait for our promotion on the 11th of September where the ebook will be reduced to £4.99. Please follow the link below.
Below is the text from the back of the book.
When fantasy blends with reality, as the border between two worlds disappear. A boring accountant, Arthur Swordlong, with a passion for grass bowls and beer, reacts to having cancer by transforming into a King – King Arthur to be exact. What can he achieve? Will his quest be successful against the mysterious Darkness? Or will all his battles be for naught?
Join him and his knights of the round table as they face pubs, affairs of the heart, fantastical beast and the British health system.
Thank you SFFChronicles - you all helped me when I had questions... I liked the fact that new authors (and existing) have a place to come for answers, even if it generates more questions.
