That was an interesting article, @Stephen Palmer . It's a topic that I find quite intriguing.

I'm not impressed. for some reason it reminded me of some of the animation from 1990's Total Recall. [not the Johnny Cab but the animated Arnie]
I thought the shoulder roll was the most believable bit of it. That looked real to me.
The rest of it looked like a training aid for sociopaths...

And what's with the exaggerated and overly careful arm gestures? I've noticed this in CG animated characters, always waving their arms about, and too slowly.

I'm not sure a bunch of SFF authors are really representative of the average person when it comes to their readiness to immediately trust human-seeming robots....

This almost but not quite escapes the uncanny valley for me. I mean, it's a head that looks very much alive on a body of wires. Yikes.
