Just found out that Mike Nesmith has died. Michael Nesmith: The Monkees star dies at 78

The Monkees are my favourite band. Me & @Lobster had our first dance at our wedding to Me & Magdalena and we walked back down the aisle together to I'm a Believer.

Gutted. Only Micky Dolenz left now.

Aw man, Mike Nesmith was fab. Gutted he caught the last train to Clarkesville.

Without him we wouldn't have had MTV (or the movie Head, written by Jack Nicholson).

He was my favorite Monkee, but his 1977 song Rio was the one I liked the best.

The Monkees was a staple for me during the six week holiday as a kid. RIP Mike.

Mike Nesmeth was cool and he talented. He and the other Monkee's were fun to watch on tv. They and their show was a precursors to Music video and MTV.

My wife says that the Monkees' singing of Riu Chiu" changed her life. She'd never heard it before but was fascinated by it and persuaded her high school chorus teacher to include it for public performance.
