What kind of fantasy/sci-fi world do you wish to live in?

Anything is possible there. Your imagination is limitless. Do we live in another dimension? In another world altogether? What are the laws that society live by? What is the technology there? Or maybe the lack of? Does the world we live in currently have an impact on their current choices or infrastructure and lifestyle?
Perhaps we are in the medieval dynasty? Or maybe a grand virus has broken out and we're trying to survive?
My imagination runs deep, and I want to know how yours goes.

A place in which the food is better.;)

I would certainly like to visit Middle Earth—at least, I would during an extended period of peace. I have no wish to be menaced by rampaging orcs or dragons. Or to meet the forces of Angmar, or to get a first-hand look at the wars of Beleriand.

Especially, I would like to visit the Shire: so green and pleasant. And Minas Tirith: not just for the scale and grandeur of the city, although of course there is that, but also because I think it must have some excellent libraries/houses of ancient lore which would be amazing to explore.

And Narnia, with the same sort of caveat. No endless winter with never a Christmas in sight, courtesy of the White Witch. No invading Calormenes or Telmarines.

And Dorimare seems like a nice peaceful place, with some interesting customs and landscapes.

Or the great city of Havnor, on Earthsea, that might be a splendid place to live.

Hi,

Actually I'd rather go to the future - a good future not a dystopian one - where medical science has advanced to the point where I could eat what I want, exercise as little as I want, and not get fat or sick. Not getting older too would be good!

Cheers, Greg.

If I was young and had the right skills , I think id like to try my luck in the Hyborain age of Conan the Baarbrain. :)

I'm pretty sure we have done this one recently.
Well there are places I'd like to visit ... but I wouldn't want to live there ;)

As for where I'd like to live, a global Kibbutz system would work for me (well, a good one where the best governance is in place). Lots of early ones were little better than Russia under Stalin.

I'd like to live in a universe wherein all sentient life had been "raptured" into a rapidly and eternally expanding state of indiscriminate love for everything and nothing. Each individual sentient life form has retention the size of multiple star systems, happiness is absolute, and the only work to be done is to synchronize evolving each other even faster.

But if you dressed right and brought some carefully chosen fun things with you - a smart phone and tiny projector would do it - you could pass yourself off as a wizard and enjoy the visit.

And Id call myself Techno the Illustrious . :D

Can't really beat Charles Fourier's intergalactic polyamorous socialism where the ocean tastes like lemonade and all kinds of helpful animals like anti-lions and anti-mosquitoes have appeared.

Definitely the Culture, because of all the endless things to do and be, and all the places to go and see.
