I know in the past we've had many threads discussing the different types of editors (developmental, copy-, etc), but lately it seems like there's been a deluge of book coaches advertising on Twitter and the likes.

Since I have a critique partner who actually is a certified book coach, I thought I'd ask a few questions about it. I already posted the link on the blog thread, but I'm reposting here in case it helps anyone who is curious about this. Mods, feel free to pull if I shouldn't be sharing this! :)

Interesting. I do coaching. It’s very different from other forms of development

I knew you did editing but I’d actually forgotten you do coaching as well, Jo, apologies! It sounds really interesting, both from a writer and a coach POV.
It’s great when it works - chemistry definitely has a big part to play - but harder when the goals are less clear. But it’s very different from editing etc - more about empowerment and supporting the journey

Good for people who help fledgling writers find their voice. I used to try that and it rarely worked out for me. Oh, have I mentioned that I don't teach chickens how to dance? Bye now. Drof runs for the nearest exit. ;)
