Need help remembering a title.

Read a book online last year. Can't remember the title or the author. SF time travel story.
Started with a large hole appearing in the main characters front garden which turned out to be made by a crashed space ship.
Wanted to read it again must have downloaded it from kindle library. Returned and now wishing I had bought it.
Any ideas?
