According to this article in the Guardian (detail provided by Reuters) the SLS weighs 5.75 millions tons.

They’re going to need more than a couple of solid fuel boosters to get that off the ground!
 
NASA says it's 5.75 million pounds (weight). That's 2608 metric tonnes (2875 US tons). More than a slight difference. But that was well picked up. I would have just read over it without thinking (which is obviously what several journalists and editors all did too!)
