Apparently Ron Gilbert is returning to his roots and creating the *true* Monkey Island 3. Whilst Curse was enjoyable, Escape From was awful, more for the disastrous decision to move the game into 3d than for the puzzles and humour. But they just couldn't capture the humour and spirit of the first two games; unsurprising as Ron was not involved in either.

Not at least it seems he is about to release Return To Monkey Island; will he be able to capture that same magic that he did in 1&2? Let's hope so.

Was Monkey Island one of the "Point and Click" games from LucasArts? Never played it.

Yes. Along with Day of the Tentacle and Fate of Atlantis, they're the best of their type ever.

I haven't played it, but I've heard that the non Star Wars Lucasarts games were quite highly regarded. I was looking at a remastered Grim Fandango yesterday. Perhaps i need to try a few of these out.
