The Invaders (1960's)

Yeah, this was fun back in the day. It's a pity that the aliens disintegrated when they died, but it worked for the show.

Seasons 2 , David Vincent had allies , I liked that premise. I wish the Network had let this show continue for 2 or 3 more seasons.

I watched Season 1--haven't seen the second season yet.

In season 2 he ran int a bunch people who were believer who wanted to help him , one of which was powerful industrialist.

I remember watching the episode "The Spores" with special guest Gene Hackman.
There was a fight scene between Roy Thinnes and him, both actors had really obvious body doubles for this scene.
The Gene Hackman one in particular stood out, he had a full head of hair compared to Mr Hackman's very receding locks.

It was terrific series and , I so wish they had given this series more of a chance.

They did a crappy miseries continuation of this series in the 1990 with Scott Backula . Roy Thines was in ti but only briefly.

Why didn't he carry a knife or a gun?
Would seem a smart thing to do
especially since he knows they were going to attack him and they disappeared totally when killed.
I like the one where Michael Rennie guest stars. Very well-used in that one.

ROM: SPACE KNIGHT used some ideas from the show--the aliens taking human shape.
I think Rom would make a good movie--since the idea is that the alien creature is the good guy and his zapping of the humans--just creates even more misunderstanding since he can't convey the fact that the ones he is targeting are aliens too.

Jack Lord was in an episode , he plays war scarred , disgruntled bunessman who threw in with the Aliens and Richard Anderson in an episode as was James Whitmore

Not a surprise, I think once could argue that this show was a bit influential then we Imagine . Xfiles for example, did some sillier things.

I didn't know there was a mini-series sequel to the show in 1995 with Roy Thinnes.

The New Invaders.

I never saw its original screening in the UK (we didn't have a 625 line set until we got a colour TV after the Munich Olympics), only a single episode repeated many years later... but I knew the show existed, because some of my US superhero comic books contained adverts that were either promoting the series or a model (or "model"... think carboard tanks) of the alien craft.

It was shown infrequently in syndication int h 1970's and 80's. Oringally produced by Quinn Martin , as far as I know , its the only science fiction show Quinn Martin ever did.

In the comic book by Gold Key, David Vincent carries a gun and uses it quite a bit too.

I remember when the show was first on, but didn't recall anything about it. Recently, I watched the pilot episode on YouTube but that was enough for me. Just nothing about it was memorable, or intriguing, or interesting.

I watched The Organization which has him with quite a large group of supporters.
He also seems to be carrying a gun regularly.

It occurs to me that every episode of The Invaders says "architect David Vincent" and yet we never see him doing any "architecting" ever.
