80s or 90s Suspense Trilogy

So I’ve been trying to remember the name of a book trilogy that I read as a kid. I can remember that there were 3 books total, but I only got to read the first two because no library around me had the third….I’m assuming because of low popularity. It featured a female protagonist, who began seeing and interacting with an evil blonde guy on her 15th or 16th birthday. He appears only to her, so I can’t remember if he was a ghost or just had powers or what. He keeps trying to influence her to do bad things. Each book was only maybe 200 pages or so. And the covers had the girl and the blonde guy and he was always behind her and kind of half visible. Also I remember the titles all being connected and similar. Hmm possibly. I’ve had a few people suggest these books. The only thing that gets me is I don’t remember a game factoring into it. But it could be. Thanks!
