David Warner (actor)

A great actor. He always was a brilliant bad guy and I loved him in Time Bandits, Tron and Star Trek.

R.I.P. David.

He was in so many genre films and film series.
I was saying on another forum that there was always a line or two of his in a movie that resonates after it is over.
A haunting gravity to certain dialogue.

"90 years ago I was a freak, today I am an amateur."

"If you lose your disc, or fail to follow commands, you will be subject to immediate de-resolution. That will be all. "

"You don't trust me, do you? I don't blame you. If there is to be a brave new world, our generation is going to have the hardest time living in it."

He played a good character in the Lost World 1992, where he is an effective foil for John Rhys-Davies without the villainy. He had a good monologue in Scream 2 I recall.

Pretty sure he was a voice character in the Count Duckula cartoons.

And Dr Necessiter, of course.

One of those special actors (like Pete Postlethwaite and Alan Rickman) who usually played second fiddle but often stole the show.

Interestingly (and possibly uniquely?) he played not only three different characters, but three different races in Star Trek: Klingon, Human and Cardassian.

A versatile, always entertaining, actor who will be sadly missed.
