Seventies to Nineties short story I think.
An ETI is being interviewed by a team of military types. One soldier shoots and kills the ETI. At this point a woman in the team strips naked and says "It could have been any one of you. I just happen to like this body."
 
Robert Silverberg has one from which a movie was developed.
That might be the one--though the name of the story escapes me at the moment.

Amanda and the Alien
apparently both the name of the story and the movie.
The alien takes many forms--at least one of them a young woman.
Later Amanda encounters her and deduces that something is amiss by the way the woman acts.

So many great Silverberg masterpieces to choose from, and they made this into a movie [shakes head]. Having said that, it was no doubt well executed (the story not the movie).
