In the late 70s or early 80s, I read a short story about growing up on a generation ship. The story was written from the perspective of a teenager. The plot twist was that the main character was awakened only once a year while the 100 other passengers lived out their lives. All activity on the ship was controlled automatically by robots so that the humans had no control over the ship and were restricted to only a portion of it.
The story was printed in a paperback collection of science fiction short stories, but I don't have the title. I've tried looking for the story a few times without any luck.
Thanks for your help!
