It's a Small World - the modelling thread.

Curious to see how Foxbat's rigging comes out.
Still experimenting with the rigging. I've just applied a solution of PVA and water as recommended by somebody on Britmodeller but it's not looking good (I don't think it's going to set). Unfortunately, the poster never mentioned the ratio of glue to water so I'm still messing around with it. I'm already thinking I'll probably move to another type of glue. I also need to try applying colour to the rigging. The recommendation that came within the model instructions was to steep them in tea to colour them but that didn't work so I'm probably going to try airbrushing some colour into them.

The way I see it, there's no point progressing with the model until I figure out exactly what will work.

Love your metal ship by the way. The side view of it gives it the look of something you might see in a tapestry:)

Thanks! It does, doesn't?

Have you tried thin cyno at the cross points and then applying accelerator?

Not yet but I may do so now that you mention it. The only reason I tried dilute PVA first was because I happened to have some lying around.

Still not very good photos, but all of know this model! Again, a Metal Earth. It's 2"x3"x (1/8"thinnest or 3/4"thickest) (50x705mm, 4mm thinnest or 20mm thickest)
Made this one a year ago. Just wanted to share with everyone. There are some errors, like the cockpit. But overall, not to difficult.

I have made Warhammer models since the 1980s. I do so many conversions (kind of like cut and paste, only 3D) that when I build a stock-standard model, my mates ask me if I'm okay.

I think the Millennium Falcon looks great. The design really suits the use of metal.

Might buy me one:)

I told an old friend about this thread and he was very keen to register with Chrons so he could participate here, but says for some reason his email address came out as 'banned' when he tried to register.

His wife has organised a youtube channel for his modelling called "Tales from the Bunker" which details works in progress.

For example, chosen at random...

If anyone wants to check it out, he'd be delighted to hear from any of you in the comments section

Thanks! When I was younger, Dean's pictures were used as the cover art of various Amiga computer games, and I remember finding them fascinating back then (and still do).
I still have a book of his art knocking around at home - mostly album covers from my youth (Yes etc.) I can see how he would have liked those designs!

I’ve got that! It’s called Views, and as well as the album covers, it’s got ideas for living spaces, including a personal “pod” which I really, really wanted.
