Quantum Leap Trailer

I know, it's a trailer. Nothing more than that. But it doesn't make me enthusiastic. The MC's didn't convince this is going to be a success.
It seems like a failed attempt to create a copy of the original, with extra attention for the humorous side and totally losing the seriousness and depth which was the strength of the original.

Watched first episode. I will continue to watch.

There are some interesting questions raised as mysteries and I'm interested in how long I can endure watching before I get impatient about those questions.
Possible minor spoiler below.

"Its not like the usual reboot--it is more like a continuation from where the last one ended."

Read an interesting article about a point they missed with Al's clothes in the original. Yes they were loud and outlandish being from a near future and it being Al but for Sam they were a useful guide because Al immediately stood out from everyone in the past allowing Sam to quickly find him, apparently the new hologram is dressed more conservatively and so isn't so unique in their surroundings.

I absolutely loved Quantum Leap as a kid. I used to watch it every weekend, it wasn't like other Sci Fi I used to watch because at the heart of every episode was some sort of moral questions. Although the answers were not always black and white. It never felt like it was moralising at the viewer.

I loved the final semi religious reveal (a lot of people didn't), but for me it fitted into the themes and narratives of each episode.

The trailer seems all flash and style, I just hope there is some substance. This trailer doesn't blow me away but I'll watch it. If it isn't to my taste I will probably go and re-watch the original.

With regards to the semi religious ending, I thought it had been established that Sam was working for God when we met the evil leapers who appeared to be working for the devil. Al even mentioned God when there was a Senate committee hearing over the continuing cost of the project.

That's how I remember it.

And it was a shame they dropped the evil leapers line of the story

Supposedly Sam Becket might be showing up.
