Forgotten Title

Earth. Aliens on peoples backs. One person can suddenly see them and finds he can read other peoples minds. There is a second set of aliens. He helps first set of aliens defeat the second. May have been a short story. Help

Heinlein's "Puppet Masters" only has 1 set of aliens...
Likewise, the Star Trek (TOS) episode with similar creatures, one of which latches onto Spock.

Did the 2nd set of aliens also piggyback on peoples' backs?

Was it only a young boy that could see them and he was also able to see that they had a slightly odd spectrum as well kind off just outside the normal, seem to recall this story from about 40 years ago, but cant recall the author or title.
