Bumblebees get a buzz out of play

I watch birds flying and landing and think that half of it is "just because it's fun/I can". Even for wild creatures it is not all work and no play. Amazed at the results for the bees - something that small showing what seems playful behaviour.
 
Wow, just, wow. I want to think of some other explanation but can't come with one.

I think what is significant here is not that the crow used a lid as a sled but the fact that it was able to reason that by taking the lid back to the top, it could do it again and again.

We’ve known for some time that play can be important in animal development but perhaps we underestimate how important play can be in creatures we wouldn’t normally consider.
