Just watched part of an episode of Spearhead from Space on Youtube. I'm not one usually for 'improvements' and replacements of 60s/70s special effects with CGI, but the picture quality here is absolutely breathtaking. It's like it was shot yesterday - almost real enough to touch.

It is beautiful the only downside is it really shows the shoddinness of some of the sets and the costumes. Would love to see the entire run of Doctors 3-5 like this though.

 

[Fiberglass Cyborg]

There are a few optional updated effects in the DVDs of the "Black Guardian Trilogy." The one I was happiest tto see was the replacement for the truly eyeball-slaughtering background effect where the Black Guardian first talks to Turlough in "Mawdryn Undead."
