The Kingdom of Loathing (Including WOL & SOL)

So, I search the forums before making this and found that around 2006 there was a thread about Kingdom of Loathing that wracked up a whopping four posts total. Rather than necropost I thought it might be appropriate to create a new thread and include the two games that have followed. When I first started playing this game some fifteen years ago I had not expected it would have such a large impact. I read Terry Pratchett's and Douglas Adam's works afterward and found a deep appreciation of them as a result.

I'm curious what sort of overlap this has in the writing community and how many literary-minded folk are familiar with the game and as enamored with it as I am.
