Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny (2023)

The intro with the diamond, ice and antidote, then the inflatable raft was great too. It just felt that the story was weaker; perhaps because it was all set in mainly one location.

Yes ,but it great villain in the Molar Ram played by Amrish Puri.

Maybe Temple of Doom was more of a kids movie. Raiders has slightly more adult appeal.

TOD definItely feels more geared towards kids than Raiders was. Last Crusade seems to fit nicely in the middle. Willie is my favourite sidekick though, and the intro, bedroom scene, 'chilled monkey brain', minecart and rope bridge all make ToD fun and memorable.

For me, the fist film will always be the best , I remember seeing Siskel and Ebert reviewing the film and they loved it and that made me want to go see it. The ending when the Nazis opened the ark , I didn't see that coming.at all. ive seen this one many times, it never gets old.

Much darker humour in the first one too. Toht's hand medallion, Toht's clothes hangar, the fist fight/propellor, the gun vs sword fight, snakes etc. The sequels tended to be much lighter and obvious with the humour.

Although some of the dialogue between Jones jr and sr was hilarious.

The third film was hilariously funny and Ford and Connery played off each other so well.

In the world of 'Raiders' Indy is in a cut-throat world of Nazis and backstabbing rivals. Even his ex is a hard drinking, tough talking girl who is more than capable of standing up for herself. Being nice and noble only gets you dead.

I think the scene with the swordsman in tbe market place (and even the Nazi with the propellor) demonstrates that Indy can be pretty ruthless, but I never thought of him as being a bad guy.
Seems like a bad guy. His introduction with the innate sense that he is about to be robbed and using a whip to deal with it is downright sinister. Several minutes later he dispenses with Forestal's corpse as if he found an old hat that was out of fashion.

Then he's sleeping with his students, then being castigated for dumping a too-young Marion after leading her on. It really took Salah to humanize the guy.

All of which I am so in favor of. Raiders is the ultimate example of character development through revelation rather than growth.

If there is a 6th Indiana Jones film . It will mostly be about zombies .;)

If there is a 6th Indiana Jones film ...
It's Disney, so it will either follow on directly from Raiders but with an entirely new set of characters, or else be set at the end of the Victorian era long before the events in the Indiana Jones Saga. They will continue to have future characters cameos from the other films. There will be a whole series of films about what Marion and Sallah have been doing between the other films.

I'm still holding out that the Indiana Jones game will be good fun.

There's money to be made therefo, at some point in the future, they'll be a robot of some kind or another . Or , what could do is an Indiana Jones like series with H Rider Haggard's Alan Quatermain . Why not? it was one of the inspirations for Indiana Jones .

one of the inspirations for Indiana Jones .
I believe (I'm not going back to check) that this has been discussed in this thread at length already. Indiana is a pastiche of exactly those kinds of heroes from books, 'boy's own adventure serial' comics and pulp films. Indiana Jones is an amalgam of them all, and that's the whole joke, is it not?

Alan Quartermain films would be good, but too dated for today's audiences, and I wouldn't want him to be updated.

I also think it's time for Indiana Jones to be put to bed too (with cocoa and slippers). My sequels ideas were a joke (just in case you hadn't realised.)

I know that .:)

In the case Allan Quatermain they could update a few things but they could still keep it in the same time period. This could be alot of fun to watch on the bog screen.:)

Doc Savage: Mystery of the Bog Screen - Doc and the Fabulous Five investigate a strange wall of impenetrable netting that surrounds a Scottish estate, wherein lurks a peat moss horror!

There has been talk about doing a new Doc Savage film too but I don't think we are going to see it any time soon.
