Procrastination avoids impulsive mistakes.
I have thought "Thank god I didn't do that" far more than I have missed opportunities.
I also know a close cousin of procrastination which goes "I should take a different route today." Whether I avoided accidents by following such impulses I don't know but I often find something new.
( For example I rerouted and I passed a bicycle shop. He was just putting a £70 price sign on a Yamaha YDS5 that he had taken in part exchange and was clueless to the value of. Needless to tell any classic motorcycle fan, I bought it within 2 minutes )
