War of the Worlds 2022 audio drama. HG Wells would be proud (or some other word). Out Dec 30th.

Run time of about 25 min., with an original soundtrack and multiple SF contributors.

It is from a thread in the workshop. @Elckerlyc and @THX1138 both contributed to the thing, with @THX1138 writing and playing all characters in a US gas station scene about halfway through. It'd be great if any Chrons had time to give it a lash and review on any of the podcast platforms (here's the anchor link to the show, ya should be able to get to any/ all of the podcast platforms from there;)

The true story of what happened tomorrow in Mullinabreena, Colorado, New York and outer space;)
Thanks again to @THX1138 for being so generous with time and skills -the show can be found through the linked poster below (I think I've covered all the usual podcast/ audio format,s but if you spot one missing leave a comment and I'll add a copy).

Here's the YouTube version if anyone wants to take a listen that way:

Here's the @THX1138 clip -there was loads more, and a few listeners have said that part was class. It would've been great to bring the rest into the show but it was just outside my skill level to match into the show's sound (ended up bluffing with sound effects). I think in future the key would be a virtual studio for contributors to log into and let software match in the quality ..all the dB range/ filter curve do-hickeys etc.

✂️ THX1138 reporting from the martian apocalypse

And finally a deal to get the participant's names mentioned -listen to the acknowledgements and get to hear an original joke (social media ...if ya can't beat it, join it;)

That was funny! Just listened to it today. I do need to get myself a better mic for recording and a virtual studio would be great too.
Fun time! :)
Great stuff, and a credit to you that ya just jumped in. The mic I got cost fifty euro and seems good enough, at least a couple of the actors I doorstepped said it was a good one. The virtual studio will be trickier as it'd take a chunk of time to put together -will see if there's something already out there, there must be something that other audio drama folk use. Be cool to do 'Journey to the center of the Earth' sometime if ya were up for it;)
Thanks again, great work

Think @RohanODuill and @Jo Zebedee are the only Chrons in striking distance (and even at that it's a big stretch) but War of the Worlds 2022 will be done live in Sligo at 6 bells on the 15th Feb -plan is to have it like a normal standup gig till one of the acts starts ranting about Martians and then some of the punters join in ...billed as comedy but it's SF all the way;)

But far from me on a crazy busy month but hope it goes great! Didn’t know Rohan was here and wave a hi!
No panic at all -I'll let ya know if it ever gets polished enough to justify the spin. Just posted it here in-case any random Sci-Fi head was about. I think most people are into standard comedy and SF is like kryptonite;) ...gonna plough on with it anyways.

Rohan is a member but I think he's flat out publishing at the moment (y)

Experimental Science Fiction -the No1 thing to do in Sligo this week ...think there's a video of the messing somewhere, will link it for anyone curious about live West of Ireland SF;)

Clip from the show, we'll inflict it on the unsuspecting public again later in the year;)
