Dear all,
Does anyone know where can I find "The House of Keziah Mason" by Julien Raasveld online? (in English).
That short story is part of a horror compilation published by Editorial Bruguera in the late 70's ("Las mejores historias de fantasmas"), but it's in Spanish and I think the translation is not very good.
Because of that, I have been looking for a version in English for a long time. I do know it exists, because it's listed in the contents of CYÄEGHA fanzine's number 5.
I also searched through Mr. Raasveld's bibliography but apparently The House... was never included in any of his books.
Any information you can provide will be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
Best,
Randy.

Ive never head off this author.

In terms of search you have come to the right place , there people where who alot about various genres of fiction.

If I may offer a suggestion , look over the rest of this forum, they're are many of interesting books and topic discussion here that you might find of interest. :)

Thought not what your looking for , book you might find of Interest Nightshade and Damnations by Gerald Kersh . :)

Hi Baylor,
Many thanks for your reply. I didn't know or had heard of Raasveld before I got the book I mentioned above either. Apparently he was (died a few years ago) a fairly well known (at least in Belgium) horror/fiction writer.
Many thanks also for recommending the book by Gerald Kersh. Didn't know it but looked it up and it certainly sounds like a good read (y). I am going to get it.
And I will certainly explore the rest of this forum, as suggested. :giggle:
Best,
R.

Julien C. Raasveld was a Belgian writer who wrote and published in Dutch. He died in 2013. His short story "The House of Keziah Mason" dates from 1971 and seems to be an exception to his exclusively writing in Dutch.
According to ISFDB.com the story was first published in English in Parallax magazine in March 1971.
It looks like finding a copy of this magazine is your only (but very slim) hope.

EDIT
It seems this story was also published in 1973 in French(?): LA MANSION DE KEZIAH MASON (zie 14), in: Las Mejoras Historias de Fantasmas, anthologie

Hi Elckerlyc.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, "The House..." was published in both Parallax and CYÄEGHA magazines/fanzines. Unfortunately they are quite difficult to find.
I will keep looking. Maybe a kind soul out there who owns a copy of either publication will see this post and take the time to scan the story and upload it to the internet ;)
Best,
R.
