Coragem
Believer in flawed heroes
I recently finished THE EDEN TEST. If you're a writer, Adam Sternbergh is always worth reading IMO. He's one of those writers with a true gift or even a genius for writing prose. A Mozart or Beethoven of the craft. With a eerie sixth sense for what the reader can tolerate in terms of dropping sentence threads then picking them up later.
And in THE EDEN TEST Sternbergh really knocks it out of the park. It's his first non-SF / non-speculative. A psychological thriller of sorts. Not my usual kind of reading, but the plot coheres much better than his previous novels. He brings everything together spectacularly well. Detailed, nuanced character studies. A powerful depiction of male violence and the stalking of a woman. Themes relating to acting and theatre. Plot twists that go off with a BIG SATISFYING BANG when the come (even if the middle of the novel is, perhaps, very slightly on the slow side).
Anyway, want to enjoy a great read and improve your craft? Read THE EDEN TEST.
