'Newer' Writers

I was just posting in another thread that I'm getting older and have been reading some 'newer' authors. Ones that I really liked so far include Kiernan, Burke, Hirshberg, Barron and several others.

So who do you consider 'newer' writers and who do you like the best? Also, I'm only reading short stories at the moment so, any suggestions on good modern collections would be mucho appreciato!
