I have invented a water saving toilet for my SF novel. When sat on extensions couple with the anus and urine outputs and gently extract (voluntary movement) waste. A sort of quantum Loo. Serious comment and jokes (educated ones please, no toilet humour) welcome. it!

Are you sure that the design that Howard Wolowitz worked on isn't... er... behind this one...?

He may be more than affronted if it is.

Wouldn't this be a simple vacuum pump and hose with the appropriate fittings? Isn't something similar being used on the international space station.

bathroom on the ISS

From a hygiene point of view, a universal device that enters the body's orifices is likely to be something that wouldn't be popularly used.

Yes, The Flush Master 5000 Hadron Collider Toilet . Uses antimatter to eliminate human waste and provides a clean source of free energy as a by product . You'll never have to pay electrical utility bills again. :D

Perhaps a bio engineered animal would be better?

Something like a cute koala that can only eat poo and has a long soft tongue to clean you afterwards.

I did a water conserving bathtub for a space station--one with artificial gravity(that is the space station has AG){although a tub with artificial gravity might be interesting}--anyway, the tub is shaped(roughly)like an average sized human--anyone above average has to stand and shower. Anyway, the point here is I recently looked at a brochure for the Safe-Step walk-in tub and it looks like they are half way there but much more generous toward those with a little girth.

As to the concept in the OP. Sounds half way to the typical colon flush--so: my thought is, 'why not go all the way and make it a sort of colon flush and bidet?'

Perhaps the more personal part should already be in the anus and the toilet has a quick connect for that. That would at least give an illusion of something more sanitary.

Then, of course that leads to that place where someone might say ,"I'd ask what's up yours; but I have a fair idea already."

You know; off in space in strange conditions a good colon flush might be what one needs.
