Star Wars: Ahsoka - 01:04 - Part Four: Fallen Jedi

The only observation that I would make regarding the use of lightsabres, is that rather than stabbings through the chest cavity, the way in which the blades are constantly swung around would lead to more severed limbs. Yet, I don't see amputated legs and arms as injuries.

Yeah, Disney seems rather averse to the notion of dismemberment itself...

But I mean what does it actually feel like to clash a lightsaber against another one? Does it feel the same way as two swords biting into each other? Or would they just slip freely alongside each other? Or could it feel like yet something else?

It always seemed to me that it was the second option. I don't understand why they keep depicting those laser tubes, for lack of a better phrase, as steel swords with a different look. They shouldn't have any bite to them, they should glance off of each other all the time. I hate it when they have two lightsaber blades locking up and the two characters just keep pushing their blade into their opponents as if they couldn't just slide up it and stab at their face, or slide down and cut off their hand.

I realize I'm probably going a little far in my analysis of a Space Fantasy technology, but I think it's just such a missed opportunity that we have such cool weapons on screen but beyond looking cool, they just behave like plain old steel swords. At least when the plot needs them to.

I really enjoyed this episode. The Hyperspace Ring leaving the atmosphere and going into hyperspace looked awesome.

Shin put in a good turn and i warmed to her in this episode. There were some very subtle expressions that conveyed quite a lot, i thought.

So on top of stealing the map ball and thereby allowing it to fall into enemy hands, Sabine has also now decided to betray her friends. She's still unlikeable and i'm not sure how she can redeem herself.

I also found it odd that Hera disobeyed orders to go into a potentially hostile situation and brought her son with her.

So the hyperspace engine for the ring was taken from and SSD. Surely that means that traveling to another galaxy from this one could be potentially easy(ish). How is Thrawn and the Chimera be considered so stranded?

How is Thrawn and the Chimera be considered so stranded?
I'll get to it in the next episode, but the reason is a) he doesn't have the map or the data, b) the space whales aren't responding to him and c) the space whales trashed Chimera last time. So it's not really space worthy for extra long voyages.
