DISCUSSION THREAD -- November 2023 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

@Cat's Cradle .... God, They Were Thorough .... This is a story which every modern human can find a place for themselves.

*Never fear Cat your story is as original as can be.

Peter V: For the want of a nail . . .

Christine Wheelwright: As well be hanged for a sheep as for a lamb.

Ian Fortytwo: Round and round and round again.

M. Robert Gibson: Every body has responsibilities.

Luiglin: Everything has an ending.

mosaix: The long arm of the law.

MetalHorse233: All cures have side effects.

Cat's Cradle: There are things as certain as taxes.

Parson: Dishonesty is the best policy.

My Muse showed up a bit late this month (this morning). I was not amused.

My story was eliminated because of word count. I used an Acrostic while emphasizing, the acrostic part like this: A=Apple. The judges ruled that construction made it more than one word. So a word of warning, if you are trying something which has not been done before, get it approved first.

Oh biscuits. I can't believe I missed the cut-off. You'd think I'd know better, right?

Now I have a story burning a hole in my pocket, with nowhere to post it...

You could also post it in this thread after the voting has been completed.

----------

@Bren G .... Three Four Things You Can Count On At The End of The World .... A story whose truth is self-evident.

@Elckerlyc .... Paper Apocalypse .... A story both humorous and somehow might just be a foreseeable future.

@Ursa major .... A Change of Administration .... A story which reminds us that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

@Daysman .... Secondment .... A story of a just Apocalypse.

I'm going to try to do this while watching football. So this might take a bit more time than usual.

Runner-up:

When it comes to red tape, rock beats scissors
by @BigJ because I always knew that paperwork was a sign of the Apocalypse.

Voted:

Three Four Things You Can Count On At The End of The World
by @Bren G because of its hopeful tone.

Some great stories about one of the most human of things, thanks folks.

Voted for:
Doomsday List by @Bowler1 ...don't make this any harder than it has to be.
(very nearly gave the vote to CC for what I thought was a great story but the List shenanigans made me laugh and that stuck)

Closest to the vote:
God, They Were Thorough by @Cat's Cradle That's just the way it is.
After the Apocalypse by @nixie Every cloud...
When it comes to red tape, rock beats scissors by @BigJ All ya can do is try.

Thanks again to the reviewers and mods, and hard luck @Parson ...slightly ironic for the month that was in it;)
