Thank you @johnnyjet

Thanks everyone for sharing their stories.

Vote went to @Astro Pen because I like being one of the nobodies.

It is 21:16, there are 30 stories and 30 people have voted for a story. Is it too soon to declare a winner?

So many people in contention still - good luck everyone!

Good times, reading the entries. My shortlist:
nixie, Victoria Silverwolf, johnnyjet, Peter V, mosaix, Bren G

I voted for Christine - loved the laugh at the end of your entry.

Thank you,@Provincial, for taking the time in your voting post to mention that the title of my story was off in the poll, and thank you, Ursa, for fixing it. I didn't mention this myself because I expected very little from my entry this month. I looked at the poll tonight and saw someone had 5 votes, and have honestly never been more surprised to see who it was that was - at least for the moment - leading. Wow.

Huge thanks to M. Robert Gibson, AnRoinnUltra, johnnyjet and sule for the listings. And a repeated Wow! to Provincial, genelewis, Christine Wheelwright, Elckerlyc and The Judge for the votes. Okay, plenty of time for voting, again best of luck, all, CC

22:43 UK time, just finishing work. Will get a coffee, read and vote before bed.

M.Robert Gibson gets my vote for a very clever (and very funny) take on the theme and genre. Nixie and Phyrebat made my shortlist.

Many thanks to THX1138 and nixie for the shortlistings, and to Parson and Victoria our constant critiquers.

The poll closed at 23:59 GMT and we have a tie!

The tie-breaker poll will be up soon.
