DISCUSSION THREAD -- November 2023 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Went for the Cat because I liked it better. ---- I guess I'm not very profound.

You would think with only two stories voting would be easier. Not so.

Parking, starving, parking, starving, parking, starving…

In the end I went with @Cat's Cradle for the more macabre take.

Thank you, mosaix! I'm proud to be in a tie-breaker with you. :) I enjoyed your story, CC

Congratulations on a well-deserved victory, @Cat's Cradle! Managed to run away with it on the tie-break.

For my own story, thanks for listings/mentions/whatnot to @Parson, @AnRoinnUltra, @johnnyjet, @sule, @The Judge, and much obliged for the vote from @mosaix (I'm just going to go ahead and pretend it's worth more coming from the runner-up who sent the voting to a tie-break).

@mosaix, would you explain the reference to ‘Ararat’ in the story please? I didn’t get it.
Not mosaix, but I just googled it, and the "mountains of Ararat" are described in the Bible as the resting place of Noah's Ark (which would have been the referenced "obvious name for the ship"). Evidently there's a Mount Ararat in Turkey that's typically identified with that site, though there's contention whether the passage refers to that specific mountain (volcano, actually). I had it confused with Mount Arreat from the Diablo games. Silly, I know. Not the first time someone here has written a story too clever for me, and won't be the last.
