I used to use a similar technique myself.
I'm thinking black and white like this one I did (now sold) 25 years back Amundsen's Mast (sorry pic taken with a 1996 potato)

That narrator... ugh. Just a pet peeve of people making assumptions and not knowing what they're actually talking about.
The end effect is quite nice here. In SciFi it ends up looking really similar to Harris' covers from the 70's-90's.

Agree and also the endemic use of the Interstellar theme to add fake 'profundity' to youtube video's.
