I loved Hammer's Slammers . Science fiction , Fantasy and horror , he was great at all of them. His novel The Dragon Lord gave a darker take on King Arthur .

He wrote a good story, not subtle, not sophisticated, but always a rattlng good story. RIP, DD.

I loved the RCN series, and I always enjoyed reading his newsletters. I didn’t expect his retirement to be cut short so soon. RIP, Dave.
