I am trying to identify a book and author I read back in the 60's.
Story Line. Ex USAF piloy. who lost a leg, hangs out a round bars near an airforce base. one day he witmesses a incideny involving a time machine.
The machine is believed to be from the future and has a tall pilot. machine sent back. but reappears with short alien pilot. Ex USAF then pilots machine. First Forward then back. Going back in time he finds a group of aliens marooned in the distant past and becomming victims of dinosaurs.
