February / March 100 Word Anonymous Challenge 2024 Discussion

@THX1138 . I'm afraid you're wrong on both counts.

@Elckerlyc You have 5 correct. The rest are not.
I note that @Elckerlyc made 11 guesses for a person who has written only 9 stories, which is a bit tricksy.

I'm going to add a new rule. @elvet can make it permanent next time, or drop it, if she wishes, but for this go it's in.

It will also address the problem that I've always seen, where you can guess an author's stories 1 by 1.

So from now on, in any one attempt, I will only accept the same number of guesses for any given author, as they have written.
So for THX1138's stories you must make 9 guesses. For Guttersnipe 3 etc.

Thus Elckerlyc would need to know which 5 he got right, which is not something I'm going to tell him. In his second guess, it may be that he drops a story that is actually correct in his new list of 9.
Great idea! Not only does it simplify the responses, but it should make it easier to work out the answers.
Definitely going to add that to our very short list of guidlines ;)

I don't get to play this game very often, so here goes:
AnRoinnUltra:
The wood for the trees
The tragic last days of deep space outpost Keppler5
And the rivers will flow
PC Flunderclomp and the clever Easter Egg
Still haven't found what I'm looking for...
The imperceptible enemy of Prime Minister Improv Redtie

Fashion Statement
The short contemplative security career of Umbarlon Hydroxil
The Phanonchaíocht of Valottam
Do you know the way to Seanleabapheistín?
My Refrigerator Story at McGinty’s Pub

crispenycate:
AK 47 Blues
Victoria Silverwolf:
Internal Strife

Wow!
Brilliant guesses @elvet

10 out of 11 for AnRoinnUltra
You nailed crispenycate
But didn't get Victoria's story.

So now, if you make new guesses for AnRoinnUltra, you'll have to make 11 guesses again.
Will you know which new one to choose and which to replace.
You now have the possibility of getting a lower mark next time if you choose the wrong one to drop. (he said, twiddling his moustache.)

Second attempt:
9 stories by @THX1138

Follow My Lead
A Quiet Rendezvous
Saved By the Blind
In Death I Will Not Part
The Spirits on the Moor
The tragic last days of deep space outpost Keppler5
Always the last place you look
Crome Dome
New York Minute

REMOVE My Refrigerator Story at McGinty’s Pub
REPLACE WITH Always the last place you look

Daysman: New York Minute

M. Robert Gibson: I See You, Dad

Victoria Silverwolf: Beholder

Elckerlyc: Internal Strife
Cotton

Congratulations Paranoid Marvin
@paranoid marvin

Tales of the Hidden

Now, Where Did I Put It?
Family TIEs
The Joker Always Said He Never Wore a Mask, Until...
Cotton
How To Hide a Treasure
Always the last place you look
Seek and Hide
My Refridgerator Story at McGinty's Pub

OK

@Elckerlyc has added 1 to your correct answer and you have now 6 of the 9 stories for THX1138

@elvet has now got all 11 of AnnRoinnUltra's 11 stories
You add Daysman's 1 story to your correct list
But your other 3 attempted authors are incorrect

She's got you all. :)
Afraid not, THX.
You'll get there eventually y a process of elimination.

New guesses:
M. Robert Gibson: How To Hide a Treasure
Oligonicella: Seek and Hide
Starbeast: The Joker Always Said He Never Wore a Mask, Until…
Victoria Silverwolf: My Refrigerator Story at McGinty’s Pub
Elckerlyc: I See You, Dad and Now, Where Did I Put It?
Guttersnipe:
Metsänkätkö (the forest's secret place for hiding things)
Déjà Voös
Crome Dome

Not so good this time, I'm afraid, @elvet.
1 Guttersnipe is correct
And all the rest are wrong.

I'll keep plugging away
Starbeast My Refrigerator Story at McGinty’s Pub
Victoria Silverwolf Where are the Snows of Yesteryear?
M. Robert Gibson I See You, Dad
Elckerlyc Beholder
How To Hide a Treasure

Guttersnipe
Metsänkätkö (the forest's secret place for hiding things
Now, Where Did I Put It?
Seek and Hide

Good work, @elvet

You are right about Starbeast, Victoria, both Elckerlyc stories and
one of Guttersnipe's.
Is it the same one as last time, or is it a different one, with last time's correct answer swapped out, and a new correct story added?
Who can tell?
..........
Well me. But I'm not telling.

But not the rest.

Yes! I guessed Victoria Silverwolf's.
( Elvet goes back to her work sheet to add in the new information.)
